Thieves cut walls, ceilings, in elaborate break-in

Sometime between 11 p.m. Thursday and 8 a.m. Friday, someone broke through the front door of Fiesta Brava, in Lenoir Mills shopping center on Highway 321. The owner said his restaurant was just their starting point.

"You can see here where the frame is bent," said Martin Ayala, the restaurant owner. "Then they came back here to the office, you can see the hole, but they didn't get anything so then they came back here to the back room."

Mother & kids with special needs to get new home

A family with special needs children will soon get a brand new home.

The Loudon County Habitat for Humanity is partnering with three Lion's Clubs in Loudon County to build a house for Kristin Brownlee and her two kids.

This is a first for the Loudon County Lion's clubs.

They raised $20,000 and their national organization matched the gift. They also plan to help with the construction of the handicap accessible house over the next few months.

Multi-vehicle crash closes I-40 eastbound for several hours in Loudon County

(WBIR - Loudon County) A chain reaction crash involving several vehicles shutdown Interstate 40 eastbound in Loudon County at mile marker 364 for several hours Sunday afternoon, according to the Tennessee Highway Patrol.

THP said the accident involved 10 vehicles and sent five people to the hospital with minor injuries.

The crash forced THP to divert traffic for 90 minutes. Crews cleared the wreck just before 4:30 p.m.

TN man arrested in 20 year old sex assault case in MI

An East Tennessee man accused of sexually assaulting a child more than two decades ago is now facing charges.

Deputies in Osceola County, Michigan arrested 49-year-old Francis Brent Mallo of Loudon. He's charged with 5 counts of first degree criminal sexual conduct. The charges stem from an alleged sexual assault in Michigan in the early 1990s.

Michigan has no statue of limitations in these types of cases.

Mallo has been denied bond.

Tellico Village's only full-service post office packs up

In less than a month, people living in Tellico Village will have to travel a good bit further to send their mail. The area's only postal service is packing up in a few weeks just before Christmas.

For 15 years, residents have been going to More than Mail for their postal needs. The business's owner, Cindy Kolevar, said she's now planning to retire and was attempting to sell the business. That's when things started getting interesting.
