RAM bringing free medical care to Loudon Co. this weekend | News
(WBIR-Loudon) People in Loudon County will have access to free medical care this weekend.
For the first time in more than a decade, Remote Area Medical (RAM) will set up shop at Loudon High School on Saturday and Sunday to provide medical dental, and vision services for those in need.
"We feel so grateful to be able to partner with RAM to provide this kind of medical care to families in our county and from surrounding counties who, otherwise, would not have access to these services," said Susan Fox, president of the Good Samaritan Center of Loudon County.
Fox says the group has been overwhelmed with the number of volunteers who are helping make this possible.
"From the first days of planning, we believed Loudon County would get behind this clinic, but the amount of support and volunteers we've received has been incredible and encouraging"
The volunteer doctors, dentists, and nurses will see patients starting at 6 am each day. Patients are seen on a first come, first serve basis, so people are advised to arrive early. Volunteers will start handing out numbers at 3 am Saturday morning.
