Storm cleanup underway in Philadelphia


(WBIR-Philadelphia) It took only minutes for a storm in Loudon County to uproot trees, tear down power lines, and rip off roofs.

There have been no reported injuries.

Woman who said husband killed himself now charged with murder

A former Loudon County woman has been charged with killing her husband, more than nine months after his death.

Investigators with the Loudon County Sheriff's Department said Janet Morton turned herself in Thursday to be booked on the charges. She was then released on bond.

Rural/Metro put on notice by Loudon County

Rural/Metro has 60 days to improve its service in Loudon County, or face the end of its contract.

Loudon County's mayor and commission voted to put Rural/Metro on notice after receiving several complaints about its ambulance service.

Scam: Caller claims to be officer, asks for money

The Loudon County Sheriff's Office is warning residents about a fake police officer that's calling people's homes and asking for money.

According to the sheriff's office, a scammer is calling people's homes and claiming warrants have been issued for their arrests. The caller says he is an officer, asks for money, and says he will arrest them if they do not pay him.

The sheriff's office says it does not call anyone to collect money.
